Case study: Genentech and Flatiron Health boost trial efficiency with pragmatic study design
Read the Case Study
Flatiron Health partnered with Genentech and Foundation Medicine to create the Prospective Clinico-Genomic Study (PCG), supported by a platform designed to reduce the complexity and burden of clinical trials for both research teams and patients. This pragmatic study focused on metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and extensive stage small cell lung cancer (SCLC), easing restrictive eligibility criteria and aligning trial activities with standard patient care.
Using a site-facing workflow, patient recruitment and tracking were centralized and streamlined, eliminating the need for electronic data capture (EDC) systems. The study met its recruitment targets with 950 patient enrollments in 18 months and had positive feedback from all participating sites, which praised the technology-driven approach for reducing data entry and enhancing efficiency.
