Geopolitical shifts and macroeconomic environment concerns have increased in the past year. Sixty-three per cent of respondents now forecast that they will cause significant disruptions in 2023, compared with only 29% in 2022. In response, the majority of businesses are restructuring their supply chains in 2023. Numerous strategies are being adopted by businesses. A primary one is that they are still maintaining and even building in some instances buffer stock as the lowest profitability product is the one a business cannot sell.
