The reality of hybrid work is an important point to make as we sometimes get caught up in an unproductive COVID-19 pandemic conversation. When the pandemic hit, we rushed to do whatever it took to "keep the factory running." Our measures, we thought, would be temporary, and we would go back to normal as soon as the pandemic passed. Then, when the pandemic dragged on, we accepted the current normal and awaited "the next normal." We now have the serenity to accept that the way that we work has fundamentally changed. Our security practises took a similar trajectory, ramping up familiar tools such as VPNs for short-term access, before embracing modernised access security.
